Despite tech being a field of innovation, systemic barriers persist—especially for women of color looking to advance their careers. Many mentorship and networking platforms feel transactional, making it difficult to form genuine professional relationships.
Developed in just 48 hours during StarHacks, an international hackathon themed Building Bridges, Femtor is a platform designed to provide accessible mentorship and meaningful connections for underrepresented women in tech.

Insights

We created a persona to better understand the needs and pain points of our target audience. It was a valuable tool, enabling us to put the user at the center of our design process.

It was discovered that our audience felt many frustrations with professional networking and building genuine connections with people because of how transactional their interactions felt.
There should be an option to select mentors.

I will reach out to mentors if I see we share similar experiences or interests.

Wireframes

After brainstorming many ideas, we moved on to wireframing in Figma, starting with lo-fidelity, and collaborated to create clickable interactions on the high-fidelity prototype.
