While most travel brands focus on pretty images, I discovered that conversion-focused design could turn Star Vacays' engaged audience into actual bookings; delivering a 60% increase in visibility, 50K+ views, and 30% more click-throughs.
Star Vacays had strong travel content, but their digital presence wasn’t converting. Despite 5K followers, we were seeing only 2% click-through rates and just 5 booking inquiries per month. Users were engaging with content but abandoning at the decision point. The homepage lacked a persuasive narrative, and social visuals weren’t guiding users toward action.
Increase bookings and inquiries by redesigning their digital touchpoints to be more trustworthy, action-oriented, and conversion-optimized.
Solo Designer | Collaborated with Founder + Marketing Team
Before designing, I led a quick-turn research sprint to analyze top-performing travel content across platforms. I uncovered 3 conversion-driving patterns:
Shareable Aesthetics → Visually bold content drove higher saves and shares
Trust-First Layouts → Clean design = perceived legitimacy = higher inquiries
Promo-Focused Messaging → Discounts and urgency significantly increased clicks
These insights directly shaped how I designed for both storytelling and conversion.
To make sure our visuals didn’t just look good but performed, I analyzed top-performing hashtags on Instagram to decode what types of visuals, captions, and layouts drove the most clicks, shares, and saves. I tracked tags like #wanderlust
, #traveldeals
, #exploremore
, and #bucketlisttravel
.
This revealed that short-form location guides and bright overlays consistently outperformed generic travel inspiration. I used these insights to shape post formats, visual hierarchy, and CTA placement across the homepage and social visuals.
I created a set of marketing visuals that blended aesthetic appeal with conversion:
Landing Page Design
🚀 60% increase in brand visibility
👀 50,000+ views across campaigns
📈 30% boost in click-through rates & customer inquiries
This project proved that effective design starts with strategy. By balancing scroll-worthy storytelling with strategic visuals, I turned a passive brand experience into one that engaged and converted. I also saw how close collaboration with marketing can align visuals with business KPIs.
